Federica Marangoni
Federica Marangoni was born in Padova, Italy in 1940. She attended the “Academy of Fine Arts” in 1965 and began showing her paintings. From 1967 she started to experiment with plastic materials, polyester, Perspex and neon.
She combines neon light, glass and the moving image of the TV screen in her sculptures and large installations, in order to create the illusion of a dynamic dimension. TV and neon represent in Federica Marangoni’s works the movement and vitality of contemporary life transmitted to her sculptures an anti-monumental spirit, a mutating and ephemeral presence.
