Duo Madreperla – The essence of women: from opera to operetta to cabaret
The Duo Madreperla consists of Lucia Adriana Koechlin and Cristiano Manzoni. The singer and musicotherapist lives in Castellina in Chianti and Switzerland where most of her concerts are with various ensembles and musicians of the classical genre. The prize-winning pianist pursues a busy concert schedule including accompanying recitals by Andrea Bocelli, K. Ricciarelli, F. Cedolins among others.
The theme of their concert is the female figure in legends and the real world in a varied and touching program that ranges from opera to operetta ending with cabaret. Unforgettable pieces are L’amour est un oiseau rebelle (Habanera) from Carmen by Georges Bizet, Cin-Ci-Là from the homonymous operetta by Virgilio Ranzato, Liebeslied from Kurt Weill’s Threepenny Opera and Tell me the truth about love by Benjamin Britten. Other music is by Paul Abraham, Erik Satie, William Bolcom, Gaetano Donizetti, etc.
